Inside Sales Representative

SUMMARY

GMI is looking for the Inside Sales Representative (ISP) to be a dynamic fast learner and interested in supporting new sales efforts while rounding their knowledge in a very technical, high touch sales environment.

The ISR is a charismatic hands-on customer focused sales person with excellent people skills. Responsible for supporting sales functions in pursuit to opportunities with new customers and within existing accounts – coordinating with GMI’s Business Development Managers (BDM), the Executive Management team and internal Staff (Engineering, Service, Quality, Manufacturing, Operations, Purchasing) on new and existing OEM programs.

Responsible for supporting sales development activities related to selling GMI Solutions Engineering and Manufacturing services for target OEM customers within the defined region. Key focus is initial customer engagements and scheduling introductory meetings – for BDMs or for direct sales efforts. Technical knowledge of computing systems, electro-mechanical systems, medical devices or contract manufacturing is a plus. This a factory based position, with mild to moderate travel expected.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Overview of major elements:

Reach out to prospective customers and contacts for initial introductions, meeting scheduling and follow up.   Develop B2B relationships with direct teams and different levels of decision makers at OEM companies.

  • Support meetings, agendas, goals and internal and external timelines.
  • At times travel to customer (with BDM) and partner sites across North America.
  • Cold and warm calling for new target customers and sales opportunities.

Support the BDM to bring Sales funnel opportunities to fruition.

  • Coordinate with BDM and Sales Engineers to develop proposals and quotations for new production opportunities – utilizing pre-defined pricing models, document templates and business marketing materials.
  • Participate in regular programs meetings and weekly project calls.

Actively engage with existing customers.

  • Occasionally support site visit activities.
  • Follow up with existing customer’s engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality and service activities and maintain relationships with each discipline.

Working with the BDM, Coordinate with Partner Companies and Field Sales Organization on identification, qualification and pursuit of new customer opportunities.

  • Within existing accounts or with new target OEMs.
  • Support progression of new customer opportunities into the sales funnel.

Work with GMI Solutions Program Management to develop existing customers and uncover new opportunities.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Utilize internal systems and maintain records that provide for the proper evaluation, control and documentation of assigned activities; prepares a variety of written correspondence, reports, procedures, directives and other materials.
  • Update internal CRM database with current activities.
  • Maintain program status within supplied tools.
  • Working with the Director of Business Development to set quarterly and annual sales goals.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requires either graduation from a four-year college or university or a minimum of 3 years relative experience.

  • Some knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross functional structure.
  • Manage multiple tasks, often with competing deadlines.

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. This is a factory based position working out of the Mequon, WI facility.
