SUMMARY

Under direct supervision of a Senior Design Engineer-Core Team Leader, performs the detailed component and system design activities related to embedded computing solutions in one or more concurrent design and development activities; has direct interaction with many functional groups related to product design and manufacturing; indirectly supports products after production release; and performs related work as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design

• Understand the interaction of designed subsystems in their relationship to the final product
• Responsible for implementation of design requirements
• Keep track of design changes and communication of the changes internally
• Strong understanding of digital electronic theory
• Familiar with commercial of-the-shelf (COTS) PC products for use in designs
• Perform schematic, circuit board level design
• Responsible for the research and development of solutions to assigned problems
• Redesign due to end-of-life component, cost reduction, etc.
• Strong background in Intel computer architectures required
• Familiar with typical electronic test equipment such as an oscilloscope, multimeter and thermal probe
• Understand and practice revision control
• Willingness to take ownership of designs and drive them to success

Lab Work

• Contributes to prototyping and small runs of engineering samples
• Debugging of circuits and systems
• Research and development activities
• Development execution of test scenarios
• Minimal software test routines

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment; position is factory based, in Shanghai, China.
