SUMMARY
Under indirect supervision of the Design Engineering Manager, assume responsibility for day-to-day operational management of all technical activities and functions in one or more design and development activities; determining the most efficient and highest quality implementations of design; developing and monitoring program budgets and timeliness; and performs related work as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Management
- Interact regularly with customer technical personnel.
- Responsible for implementation of design requirements.
- Keep track of design changes and coordinates them internally and with customer personnel.
- Must be extremely organized and highly responsive
- Able to work closely with cross functional activities throughout the organization
- Take ownership of designs and drive them to success.
- May have one or more direct reports
Design
- Understand the interaction of designed subsystems in their relationship to the final product
- Coordination of resources contributing to designs
- Select commercial of-the-shelf (COTS) products for use in designs
- Perform and review schematic, circuit board level and/or sheet metal enclosure design
- Responsible for the research and development of solutions to reported customer problems
- Redesign due to end-of-life component, cost reduction, etc.
- Strong background in Intel computer architectures required
- Familiar with typical electronic test equipment such as an oscilloscope, multimeter and thermal probe
- Understand and practice revision control
Lab Work
- Responsible for coordinating prototyping and small runs of engineering samples
- Debugging of circuits and systems
- Research and development activities
- Development execution of test scenarios
- Minimal software test routines

Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in electrical (preferred) or mechanical engineering or an equivalent and a minimum of five years prior experience preferably in a manufacturing environment. Project Management experience preferred.

- Willing to travel domestically and internationally if necessary.
